Jingdezhen China Ceramic Museum

On the first day of our visit, we will go to China's largest specialized ceramics museum, which houses around 20,000 pieces of renowned works from various historical periods in Jingdezhen since the Neolithic Age, including over 500 pieces of national precious cultural relics.
We will learn about the historical origins of Jingdezhen and Chinese ceramic culture, and appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of Chinese ceramics from ancient times to the present.

On the second day, we will learn and begin practicing traditional Chinese wheel-throwing, using this technique to create traditional forms of Chinese tea sets. During the learning process, you will master the making and use of teapots and lidded bowls, gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese tea and ceramic culture, and refine your wheel-throwing skills.
During this period, we will complete 5-8 wheel-thrown pieces/components, which will be used to make 2-3 complete tea sets.

On the third day we will continue throwing and after lunch will go together to Laochang—the market in Jingdezhen with the most comprehensive collection of pottery tools and materials. Here, you will not only find all the pottery tools and glazes you need but also experience the convenience and professionalism of Jingdezhen as a millennia-old ceramic city, providing material support for your subsequent creations including specialized trimming tools for your thrown teaware.

While waiting for the firing process, we will also take you to Gaoling Village-the birthplace of kaolin clay-to experience Jingdezhen's natural scenery. At the kaolin mine cultural heritage site, you will learn about ancient Chinese primitive clay refining methods and follow in the footsteps of the wisdom of ancient laborers.
