Brand Story

Nanac, a ceramic art brand founded in 2018 by designer Selina Chen (Chen Ziying), expresses profound reflections on human society and emotions through a playful, adorable, and slightly absurd aesthetic style. Selina graduated from Central Saint Martins in London with a degree in jewelry design and later pursued advanced studies in ceramics and glassmaking at Sheridan College in Canada. She has also participated in the debut collection design for the conceptual jewelry brand Department, while possessing experience in furniture and interior design.

The series includes:

Mother Ship & Alien Planet Series: Create fantastical worlds with imaginative elements like the Mother Ship Tea Set and Alien Baby Cup.

BJD (Buddhist Jataka Doll): A ceramic creation that fuses technology, violence, tradition, and sexual allure into an 'immortal human art form'.

Moon Series (Menses): Celebrating the feminine body and life's rhythm, featuring a vase and a moon-shaped cup.

Zen-inspired themes: such as "Party Buddha Worm" and "Buddha Head Plate," humorously exploring life and compassion.

Spikes Collection: A symbol of self-protection and inner gentleness, featuring gilded accents and nebula motifs, serving both as jewelry and decorative pieces.
